Life as we know it....

Well, this is my first post in the blogosphere. I am the first to admit, I choose not to subscribe to most technologically savvy things. I am not on twitter, I only facebook when I have to, and I check my email only when I know something is coming. The adventures of back to school have given me a large and scary glimpse into how addicting this technology can really be. By the way, if you have ever tried to start a blog, you will know what I am talking about when I say, it is TOUGH!! I could not figure it out for the life of me. I did, however, so here we are.
Hmmm...what should I write about? I have decided to go back to school, and in an insane moment of self -confidence, I decided to take on eighteen credits. This was a gross underestimation of time on my part. The last time I took that many credits, I was one husband and four kids short. I can only hope to survive this semester!!
Our life is really busy to say the least. Our oldest, Bryant, (Jacob's from another relationship for those of you scratching your head and wondering why you don't remember me having a child at 14), just started basketball, and is in the throes of middle school wonderfulness. Today for example, he was sick, missed practice, and got a grade check saying he is ineligible to play. After this turn of events for which I was properly perturbed, I punished him by taking away his lifeline, the PS3, Ipod, and phone. Note, I have lived almost my entire life without these inventions. The end of the world was coming, to which Bryant replied he would be moving out, and not playing sports. Ok, well then let's see how that works out. Not one hour later, he was pruning our houseplant, asking me if I needed anything, and finishing his missing assignments. Gotta love those hormones!!! When all is said and done, I could not have asked for a better stepson (as a side note, I hate that term, so he will be referred to as my son from now on, since that is what he is). He is always willing to help, a great big brother and babysitter, and never (ok hardly ever) allows those teenage fits to overcome him.
Now, off to dance class for two of my other little ones, Payton and Talum. More on them and my littlest, Avery, later.

P.S. Yes, I know I have shamelessly ripped off Bret Micheal's title of his new show, but I am a huge fan of 80s anything, so I could not resist!
